Setting sail for the future with Terntank – Our new ship is named Tern Vik!

We are thrilled to announce that the newest addition to our time-chartered vessels by Terntank, the Tern Vik, has officially been named today in a solemn ceremony at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard.

As an active player in maritime transportation, particularly in the Baltic Sea and the Norwegian coastal area, we take extra pride in investing in our fleet and moving towards more sustainable maritime transportation. The environmental impact of shipping operations is significantly influenced by the condition and age of ships, so for years, we have consistently invested in our fleet.

Tern Vik is one of the first in Terntank’s new Hybrid Solution Plus® series and feature the latest sail-assisted technology, methanol-ready engines, hybrid battery storage systems, and shore power connectivity, enabling a substantial reduction in emissions. This makes it the first vessel in regular service in the Baltic Sea region to integrate renewable energy solutions at this level.

These innovative systems, installed on this newbuild vessel, will reduce the carbon footprint of maritime operations beyond regulatory requirements. This marks a major milestone on our journey toward more sustainable shipping.

Stay tuned for updates as Tern Vik begins its voyage!
