NEOT’s Sustainability Report 2018 has been published
NEOT has published its Sustainability Report 2018 which is the company’s second sustainability report available for external stakeholders. During the second reporting cycle we developed further our reporting principles and defined focus areas for our sustainability work.
NEOT’s Sustainability Report 2018 applies the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards (2016) reporting guidelines where applicable but is not compliant with the standard’s requirements in accordance criteria either at the “Comprehensive” nor “Core” level. NEOT’s sustainability reporting is voluntary-based.
“In order to increase the transparency of our operations, we have decided to invest in reporting our sustainability work and performance. We started official sustainability reporting just last year, but we are continuously developing our processes so we could offer our stakeholders even more extensive and reliable information on our sustainability performance in the future,” states Timo Huhtisaari, Sustainability Director, NEOT.
Examples from our sustainability work in 2018
- we started increasing the level of knowledge on human rights in our organisation as well as developing our approach to managing human rights impacts resulting from our operations. Our aim is to continue and deepen this work in 2019.
- we continued investing in well-being at work and the results of our employee satisfaction survey were on an excellent level. NEOT was also recognised as one of Finland’s Most Inspiring Workplaces. More information about the recognition can be found from an article published on our web site.
- we successfully tested liquefied biogas (LBG) in our shipping operations. LBG is a 100% fossil-free fuel with no CO2 emissions.
